Last February 24 of this year, with my initiative as a SLSC officer of the College of Law, I tried to convince our President to interact with the City government on their tree planting activity in honor of those who died of the Sendong tragedy last Dec. 17, 2011. I, the rest of the COL constituents and Atty. Young were in cooperation to make this event a success. Not just for the sake of having fun, mingling with the rest of the people in the legal profession but it is by coming together for a cause and planting more than 1000 seedlings at the Pindugangan Bridge which was greatly damaged due to the strong flood which cause ruckus to the Iligan residents out of the blue. It was a nice thing to do because we were doing it for a good cause and we wish that by planting these trees, those Sendong victims who up to now have not been found and are still missing will look over these seedlings and tend to it in spirit to help Iligan recover from the traumatic effects of that incident. I hope that these trees will live on and protect us from the wrath of Mother Nature. I also hope that people will change for the better and take good care of our environment. Planting trees could be the start of it and so on. Let's do this not just for the NOW but for the FUTURE GENERATION to come.
