SOAR HIGH!

As the New Year begins, the College of Law is faced with a plethora of activities lined up starting with the yearly celebration of Constitutional Law Days. Although conventionally it was supposed to be coined as “Consti Week” however, it has been condensed into two days because of exams, work and some other important agenda. But despite the shorter days to celebrate and the gloomy weather, still, the law students made the event look like a firework. It was a blast of positive competition between law students. And with the rain letting up before sunrise, they moved forward and woke up early for the Motorcade event. All of them were competitive and in high spirits. It was as if because of their bright smiling faces and the excitement felt especially for the neophytes, no matter how depressing the weather, as they say it, “the show must go on..”.

The said occasion made it an even more cherished annual festivity with the presence and support shown by the faculties and staffs of the College of Law, the professorial lecturers as well as the Lawyers, Judges and most especially the very active and where fabulosity is personified, none other than our Assistant Dean in the College of Law, Attorney Alizedney Ditucalan.

Further, the pinnacle of the affair was strengthening the undeniable thread of unity and cooperation amongst all law students and the different residential fraternities manifested during that said event on the presented games and contests held last January 29 to 30 at San Miguel Park. It was mainly spearheaded by the Supreme Law Student Council under the administration of President Muhaimin Ali Rasul.

Indeed, Constitutional Law Days serves as a common ground and an escape from the mundane mental, emotional and psychological torture that each and every law student’s face once they are inside the four walls of a room. It’s a taste of freedom from reading piles of books and digesting cases which was definitely worth it even for just two days.

Many new and exciting things happened where each law students showed fervor, grit and determination to win each game. They showcased their best skills and amidst an ocean of differences, for the first time, I see a family formed and bonded because of this event. And so here are the list of contests and games won by each different year level.

Probably the weather became a propitious omen for the freshmen law students bagging the entire award as the champion for constitutional law days in 2011. Just kidding! But needless to say, they deserved the award so Kudos to them, to the other year levels for doing their best and most especially to the SLSC officers. Traversing this event was no joke but because we see a good model amongst our officers and professors, the entire population realizes how much the designated representatives have sacrificed to make this event feasible.

With this year’s theme, I am anticipating that whatever our labors and aspirations may be, given this noisy confusion of our God given life, may we all grow and nurture the strength of our spirits for every storm that takes place in our lives. Thus, let us all SOAR HIGH!
